Ray’s first trip to Nepal in October
1991 was to trek in the Langtang and Helambu areas north
of Kathmandu. The group explored Kathmandu before setting
out by bus to the trailhead at Dhunche. The trek route
through the Langtang Valley, past the base of Langtang
Lirung, back up to the sacred lake Gosainkund and through
the Laurebinayak pass, the high point of the trek at 15,100
ft (4,602 m). The return to Kathmandu was via a ridge-walk
through the Helambu region.
Have a look at some of Ray’s photos.
